The sphinxes of India discovered by Raja Deekshithar. Spiritual Vision, scientific approach and the knowledge and traditions of the temple of Chidambaram directed Raja Deekshithar to the discovery of the sphinxes of India.

The Sphinxes of India website is a presentation of my discovery of sphinxes in the art, mythology, ritual and oral traditions of South and South-East Asia. This discovery shines a fresh and significant new light on the place of the sphinx in the history of art and civilization. Historic Treasures
This website is a presentation of six historic photographs taken in the Shri Shiva Nataraja temple in Chidambaram some 150 years ago. These photos represent a unique window on the history and architecture of this famous temple. It enables a re-evaluation of its known history and gives support for its reputation as a truly ancient and sacred sthalam. For the first time we have tangible and material proof to date this temple to the age of the Early Chola emperors.

All proceeds of counseling, teaching and book sales are utilized to support
my research on the Sphinxes of India and other research projects.
