website is a presentation of my discovery of sphinxes in the art,
mythology, ritual and oral traditions of South and South-East Asia. This
discovery shines a fresh and significant new light on the place of the
sphinx in the history of art and civilization. The website includes a
photo gallery of over 150 sphinxes I have discovered in South Indian
Historic Treasures
This
website is a
presentation of six historic photographs taken in the Shri Shiva
Nataraja temple in Chidambaram some 150 years ago. These photos
represent a unique window on the history and architecture of this famous
temple. It enables a re-evaluation of its known history and gives
support for its reputation as a truly ancient and sacred sthalam. For
the first time we have tangible and material proof to date this temple
to the age of the Early Chola emperors.
