Every human being lives
with restlessness, unorganized mind-set, confusion, worries. The
application of spiritual techniques energizes our being; gives us clear
vision; clarifies our way of living and our mind-set; develops our sense
of value. It raises the consciousness and directs our thinking towards a
realization of what you want to see and where you want to go.
It is a clear way of traveling with the right transport towards the
right goal.
My definition of Spirituality is, that just as
Mathematics makes the invisible to become visible, Spirituality makes
that what is invisible and hidden within us to become visible.
Spiritual training and
development can support us to manage our own inner being and our private
lives. But it can also develop our skills and capacities in the work
place.
The word spirituality brings to mind images of
people praying, worshipping, or maybe visiting sacred places as a
religious commitment. This is the common understanding of spirituality.
Here I want to shine light on on spirituality from another perspective.
In this article I want to demystify spirituality and present it as a
functional instrument for the achievement of many other goals besides
worship and religion.
From my experience and learning I understand
spirituality as a neutral concept. An instrument that can be applied for
many different purposes. I could compare with electricity. Electricity
is a form of energy, a power. It can be used to realize many different
functions. It can be used to make light through a light bulb. It can be
used for communication, with telephones, television, or radio. It can
also be used for transportation, in a train or a car. The goal for
which it is applied decides how and in what way it is applied.
Spirituality applied within religions practice
directs us towards the goal of religion which is the realization of God,
of the Almighty. As part of religion spirituality is applied through
doctrine, ritual, worship and prayer.
But spirituality as a neutral means to reach a goal
is a transport towards higher consciousness and realization. Every human
being lives with restlessness, unorganized mind-set, confusions and
frustrations. When we apply spiritual practice and learning in our life
we will achieve a concrete and clear way of living. It will give us the
right transport towards the right goal. In itself the ultimate goal of
spirituality is higher consciousness and realization of the Self.
I can give an example. Let's say you want to travel
to Geneva. There are several ways to go there. By plane, by train, by
car, or even on a bicycle. The transport depends on the reason for
traveling and on the purpose. To decide which transport is the most
suitable for your purpose you have to think clearly, analyze one's self
and the situation, watch your goal, and choose efficiently. This can all
be generated through spiritual practice.
Management is about administration, leadership and
strategy. The goal is generally to achieve success in these areas. This
is management of the outside world. But management is also about
organizing your own inner being. When we organize our inner self
efficiently, we can also organize our public functioning efficiently.
Spiritual techniques and practice will bring this organization of the
inner self and also of our functioning in our public life.
This will bring progress through focus and balanced growth, bringing
success, harmony and dissolving stress, frustration and conflict. With
the inner peace we can achieve more productivity and enjoy our success.
This path will make what is invisible in us to
become visible.
I offer courses, workshops
and training events for individuals, organizations and companies.
Any program will be designed in
consultation and on the basis of motivation and targets.
